Beyond the Fence is a wonderful cookbook as well as a lovely historical look at Lexington, Kentucky the book is sectioned by season. This book makes a great hostess gift. I have sent it for Mother's Day and Christmas, also.
This book will teach you things about Lexington you never knew happened or make you want to visit the one of a kind Bluegrass region if you have never been. The photography, history lessons and recipes make this book unique from all other cookbooks about Kentucky. This book makes a great gift or a beautiful present to yourself! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

This book is excellent! The photography is beautiful and the recipes are delicious. To me the part that really makes this book different from other regional cookbooks are the historical inserts that are located throughout the book. They really give you a feel for the Bluegrass Region of Kentucky and the origin of their foods. I have given this as a gift to many people and they have all loved it!

Beautiful cookbook! Great local cuisine recipes with exquisite photography of the Bluegrass area along with interesting historical synopses of Lexington, Ky. Makes a very special and thoughtful gift for anyone from or visiting Kentucky. One of the best cookbooks I own!
Love it - love the recipes - love the contributions to Central Baptist Hospital which is where my younger son was born. And the pictures and stories about Lexington are so fun to read. I've already made several recipes from this book. It's a keeper and one I'll use over and over again!!
